Kansas City Airport is quite a sorry place right now.For directional purposes, enter 1 International Square, Kansas City, MO 64153 into your navigational device. My advice to others in a similar situation with late flights at any other airports where rentals close early - reserve with National and then drive out the car closest to your choice! I had to even talk to the gate guard because I couldn’t see any car with a navigation display, but finally figured out using a VW Tiguan that connected my iPhone to the CarPlay & that worked out! The guard at the gate was easily able to locate us with my DL and we were on our way in a rather stiff rain in a city we had never ever been to before! Thanks to Apple Maps, we found our way rather easily. He told us to go to the aisles, pick up a car closest to our requested rental and the guard at the gate will check us out! It struck me at the moment - National was handling rentals for Alamo - 'you can drive any car in the aisle'!

Then, an angel in the form of a security guard appeared. A call to Alamo wasn’t helpful - the person answering said to wait 4 more hours in a terminal where there was nothing at all! And it was raining moderately outside. We had a rental reservation but, not yet paid for, with Alamo. There were no staff at any of the rentals! There were 2-3 other groups possibly families who came with us on the Rental shuttle and they seemed to just disappear directly to where the rental cars were. Our flight from Phoenix got - delayed in departure - for a 'flat tire on the aircraft', not kidding! We landed even later than expected, and turned up at the Rental car terminal even later than we expected to. Wanted to post an update on our experiences.
